Welcome to the Truly Terrible Orchestra website!
The Truly Terrible Orchestra is a group of lapsed adult amateur musicians who enjoyed playing music earlier in life (usually at school) and have decided to dust off their instruments and get playing again. As the name suggests, our attitude to music-making is very relaxed and always about having fun!
The Orchestra was founded in 2006 by Anni Cole-Hamilton and our musical director Jon Hall (pictured below!) conducts the group with great skill, patience and good humour. In March 2010, the orchestra was awarded the Laoureux Challenge Trophy at the Inverness Music Festival - a truly terrible triumph!
We play a wide variety of music from Beethoven to “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” (which aptly describes the playing sometimes...)
The TTO rehearses in Inverness and members are from Inverness, Nairn-shire, Ross-shire and surrounding areas.
